What screw do I need?

Go to solution Solved by Helpful Tech Witch,

I think I’ve found what I want.

head is big enough, but not too big, and it is not all the way threaded.

I don’t know where to put this, but I’m looking to mount a powerstrip to my desk. I just can’t find the screws I’d need. It would be a head smaller than 5mm, but bigger than 3mm, and no longer than 2cm long. I’m in the US. I can do philips or flat head screws.

(Are there names for screws? Are they different across the world?)

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

There's different types of heads, While not ideal, a countersunk head will work. Ideally a domed, or button head would be best, something that fits the appropriate width for your application, and length/thread type for what you're mounting it to.

Another option you might consider is something less permanent. I've had my surge protector mounted to the underside of my desk with 3m double sided tape for about eight years now. It shows no signs of a weakened bond, though YMMV based upon the surface of the underside of your desk.
