Hey I’m a student in Jamaica, something  caused windows to be corrupted on my laptop “possible virus” and I can’t seem to format the partition to install a clean windows. I tried disk part and it’s saying it’s write protected and I even tried overriding partition attribute. Can anybody help please?

If you're trying to format the partition Windows is on, it won't let you as it can't exactly erase itself.

When you go to install windows again, you'll get a screen showing available partitions, where you'll then be able to delete or format the partitions, provided it's not the drive itself that's faulty.

If it's not the Windows partition, did you try the below command in diskpart?

attributes disk clear readonly
