I ran some games (SOTomb Raider and Monster Hunter World)

monitored using Ryzen Master

at stock setting, my CPU would not clock above 4050 in any core (first core have the highest in all cases anyways)

i thought it just wouldn't boost since other cores are loaded as well so i manually tuned it.

manual tune to 4300 in ryzen master, it still would not clock above 4050

in both situation I'm CPU bound in the games, but it boosted fine in cinebench single core test (to about 4.3 in stock, i think)

any explanation/fix? should i upgrade to 4900X /jk or am i

edit: using pretty recent bios, not sure if latest but very recent (like july or smth)

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

4900x, yes
I've heard about degradation on zen 3000 cpus, culprit unknown, voltage suspected. Has it been running stock or with pbo adjusted to get more performance?
Beyond that you got me stumped, and intrigued

1.1v daily use, only run stock when benchmarking/testing

stocks are expected, around the same clock as CB all core

but the OC result is weird, it doesnt pin all cores anywhere near 4.3, i expected it to pin all cores at 4.3 if it's manual OC

again, stock idk what's up

but manual OC clocks are nowhere near the set core clock, even though it ran fine in cinebench -pulls hair out-

again, all game test are CPU bound situation, set the graphic to lowest so GPU isnt a factor

wondering if it's not CPU or GPU bound, but something else in the system

MHW is pretty much the same experience, so i didn't bother uploading the pics

the core clock reported by MSI afterburner and ryzen master is too different

CPU is pinned at the right core clock on msi afterburner, but ryzen master shows otherwise
