Hi, I've got a fan problem. In my case I have 2 system fans and an AIO with two fans on the rad. My problem, though, is that I only have two system fan headers and one CPU fan header, so I have my pump plugged in to the CPU header, my radiator fans into one system fan header, and one case fan into another system header. But now I don't have a system header for my final fan. I just wanted to ask if this is the correct configuration or not? Thank you very much for reading.

I’m using different fans on my splitter without issue.

They are both 140mm and similar specs so that probably helps it be OK. I have never heard they need to be exactly the same before.

Also, on some headers you can split to 3 fans safely. Look up the max amps for the header in the motherboard manual, look on the fan’s hub to see its amp rating and add all your fans together, 75% of max amps is a good limit but most don’t like to go any further past 50% than the second fan takes them.

it works

but they'll spin at different RPM and have different characteristics, so it's preferably the same model

so you get the same characteristics to control, since the splitter can only get speed signal from one fan, and control both fans based on that

it wont explode or break anything, just want to clarify

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Thanks for that, it is easy to get the wrong end of a point, as it looks like the other poster here did. Hopefully this clears things up for them too.
