So I recently just upgraded from an rx 5500 xt to a rx 5700 xt Red Devil, I’ve installed the new graphics card but when I turn on the pc my monitors are not getting any signal.

i plugged this cable into the new gpu that was previously plugged into the old one

Do not leave any power connectors unplugged. You need to use all of them.

In fact I can't even name cards that will run without all power connectors used, this isn't like CPUs which you can omit extra connectors on a low power draw CPU.

CPU: i7-2600K 4751MHz 1.44V (software) --> 1.47V at the back of the socket Motherboard: Asrock Z77 Extreme4 (BCLK: 103.3MHz) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 RAM: Adata XPG 2x8GB DDR3 (XMP: 2133MHz 10-11-11-30 CR2, custom: 2203MHz 10-11-10-26 CR1 tRFC:230 tREFI:14000) GPU: Asus GTX 1070 Dual (Super Jetstream vbios, +70(2025-2088MHz)/+400(8.8Gbps)) SSD: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB (main boot drive), Transcend SSD370 128GB PSU: Seasonic X-660 80+ Gold Case: Antec P110 Silent, 5 intakes 1 exhaust Monitor: AOC G2460PF 1080p 144Hz (150Hz max w/ DP, 121Hz max w/ HDMI) TN panel Keyboard: Logitech G610 Orion (Cherry MX Blue) with SteelSeries Apex M260 keycaps Mouse: BenQ Zowie FK1

It probably pulls to much power for that poor 8pin pcie power. Looks like you need a new PSU. Or if it is modular, it will need another 8 pin cable.

I could use some help with this!

please, pm me if you would like to contribute to my gpu bios database (includes overclocking bios, stock bios, and upgrades to gpus via modding)

2 8-pin PCI-e power connectors. Both must be plugged in order to power the card.

it looks to be 1 8 pin, but take it out and double check. If it has 1, try swapping the pcie connector to the other port. If that fails, you need a new unit.

What's your CPU?

I wouldn't risk it. You're right on the edge of that PSU's limits. You really should look at getting a 550-600 watt PSU.

must change, unlike the modular CX450M you only have 1 PCIe 8pin on the CX450.

r5 3600 + 5700XT is pretty tight for 450w PSU anyway

Some cards have PCIe slot and cable share the same power plane (so it powers everything) but most custom cards don't (typically the GPU core doesnt receive power while the auxillary stuff like memory do). You're brave to try this on a card known to break PCIe slots by drawing too much power in the first place
