Receiving Messages After Reboot

Go to solution Solved by Master Disaster,

Its normal and done for security. If your phone was stolen and that person rebooted it to try and bypass a screen lock none of your messages will go through until the device is fully unlocked again, that means both sim pin (if one is set) and screen unlock code.

Hi all,

I feel stupid that I didn't realize this before, but I just noticed that when I restart my phone I can't receive messages or get incoming emails until I unlock the phone. I restarted it this morning and walked away for about an hour and when I logged in, I suddenly get overwhelmed with messages. Is this normal for Android or is there a setting I'm missing, because it's rather inconvenient! I can still get calls so I'm wondering why not everything else. I got a Pixel 3a by the way if that matters. Thanks!
