I have a Corsair H150i Pro XT that intended to install as top exhaust with QL 120 Fans in an O11 Dynamic case. Given that the QLs aren't great radiator fans, would I be better served by side mounting the rad as intake in a push/pull using the included ML fans on the hidden side with the QL fans on the visible side? How would I go about managing the fan speeds to account for the mismatched fans and avoid too much turbulence? If I go to the trouble will I notice an appreciable difference vs my original intention?

is your CPU currently cooling well by the AIO? as in would 1 fan be moving enough air across it to not have to worry about push pull. most 120mm rads are good enough to lose maybe 1-3 degC if you switch to a solo push or pull fan unless it is an ultra thick one like the corsair H80i.

it won't break the fans but it will eventually degrade the bearing on the higher cfm fan dragging the other fan along forcing it to have a higher load than it would on its own. However, that is only when the fans spin up to 100% and stay there, at lower rpms this is not as bad.

The only thing I can think to do without measuring their performance is installing both sets of fans and then tuning the speeds by ear.  Listen for the disturbance in the air and then adjust speeds until it goes away.  At least that's how I did it.  A problem with that method is that if you're running a fan curve then you'll have to tune the entire curve.  So I'd also recommend just running at the max speed you're comfortable listening to.

Nothing is installed yet so I have yet to measure. I will be using an i9 10850k as my CPU. I can definitely follow Nick's suggestion and adjust the fans via iCue. I guess my real question is if top mounting(exhaust) with just the QL fans is adequate. Not looking to go through all the trouble if I don't have to.
