How do you turn off updates indefinitely on android 10 (ie samsung A41)?

Or rather the notifications.

I already turned off auto updates, and the update service for good measure.

However I keep getting a new notification about how I should update and get "new features" about every 24 hours...

Though I don't want new features the ones the phone already has are bad enough, it can't even play a gif continuously on the "AOD"  like why even have the option then? Lol

But yeah seriously I can deal with everything (already disabled all that "be happy"samsung bs, but I *cannot* deal with daily update notifications, this is my phone and I'm not going to update it, end of story.

There gotta be a way to make this notifications stop!?

Haha, what? Just update it. The security patches can be pretty important.

You just seem to be bullheaded in the view of "it's mine, I'll do what I want!" for no reasonable reason.

Have you tried long pressing on the notification to see if there's an "ignore this" option?

No it's fast and snappy now and it shall stay that way. I once updated my phone it reduced battery life to 50% just like that and never got fixed either. Never again.

And yes it is indeed my phone and will not get up down or neutered graded in any way...

Yes I did, cannot hide SAMSUNG update notifications... 😑

PS: as said I can hide them by disabling update service but it keeps getting turned back on  *once* a day, so what I'd need to know is *which* service is responsible to turn that thing back on?? Oof.

So update for anyone interested in not having their phones performance crippled by [SAMSUNG] updates (@dizmo not sure it applies to you but who knows 😅) :

Today I can say is the first day I did not get an annoying "update notice" (it's past 17:00h now the time they usually always popped up once a day)

That's not to say this is fixed forever, but things are looking good! ;)

if interested I could write a tutorial how to disable updates (hopefully permanently) it does not require any 3rd party tools or hacking of any kind - just some patience and common sense it would seem. :)
