Looking for a New Laptop

Hello, I am looking to purchase a computer for me to use during school. I will be using this laptop for other activities, such as programming, watching movies, however, I will not be using it for gaming.

Required specifications:

  1. i7
  2. At least 8 GB of ram
  3. At least 256 GB SSD
  4. Portable
  5. Budget of around 1000 CAD (750 USD)
  6. Good screen

I have not had many laptops, more desktops, so I am looking for recommendations for well-built laptops for a student. Also need recommendations if I should wait for Tiger Lake CPUs.
