Hi all,

The USB 3.0 Header is interfering with the GPU's clearance in a build. I've looked into right angled and low profile USB 3.0 Header extenders, and while they may work I'm not certain until I commit to buying them because the case is tight on space. I was wondering if there is any way to plug in a USB 3.0 header elsewhere on the motherboard using a converter or something (perhaps into a SATA port?).

Cheers,

S

Not into a SATA port I don't think.

There are PCI-e cards that give you more USB 3.0 headers (and often, also give you more external I/O too)

what motherboard is this?

MSI A320M-A PRO MAX. With the only PCI-e slot being used for the GPU which is interfering with the headers I unfortunately don't have much room for PCI-e expansion cards.

I did consider this. Hoping to retain the 3.0 speeds if possible though.

with the right angle adapter, caution must be taken too since it might be too tall and interfere with the GPU anyways (i think it is)

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

You have a 3-slot card? A normal 2-slot card shouldn't interfere with the header.
