I'm looking for upgrading my current PC, as title says I want to upgrade MB+CPU+RAM.

My plan is to upgrade these three parts now and GPU sometimes later so I would really appreciate if these new parts would work well with my current GPU (GTX 970) and any newer GPU that I will eventually get and won't slow it down.
Budget: 500-600$

Used for gaming mostly (Valorant, WoW, New World (after release)).
My current FPS in Valorant is at 150 and it drops sometimes so it makes my 144Hz monitor basically useless, not even talking about other games that I can barely get above 60FPS.
I am aiming for 200+ fps in Valorant at least on medium-low details, more fps is better if possible.

My current setup from 2014:

SSD 128GB for OS
HDD 1TB for games

MB: B85-G43

CPU: i5-4460

GPU: NVIDIA GTX 970

Ram: 16GB DDR3 1600 MHz

I can provide additional info about my other parts if needed.
Thanks.

Does this 144hz monitor have some sort of synch? If not you could try running it at 120hz.  I hope that budget doesn’t include the GPU.

The new systems aren’t out yet so everything is conjectural still. The baseline seems to be jaguar2 it’s 8/16 but consoles like to run the OS on separate threads, so that means anything from 6/12 to 8/15. Speeds were first estimated at 2.5ghz but have gone as high as 3.8 that I’ve seen. 2.5 meant that middle 3ghz 6/12 could cut it. 3.8 means an 8/16 at faster than 3.8 would be needed. We don’t know what the number is going to be though. It could still be 2.5, in which case all that is needed to hit par is a 2600 with a light overclock. For 3.8 it’s more like a 3700x. That assumes a fully threaded app of course. An app that doesn’t use all the threads won’t need a processor with that many threads.

the only game out so far that would have reasonably been designed for consoles is microsoft flight simulator 2020.  It’s weird.  It’s not well treaded at all, but it doesn’t perform terribly well at even 5ghz. It also has strange and very numerous files.  It kind of crushes a 2080ti.  It also eats a lot of memory. It could also be a red herring designed to lead prognosticators in the wrong direction. It could be it’s just a terrible optimization job.  It could also be for example that it means XboxX has the capacity to cut threads up and spread them across a cpu, so one can program lightly threaded but get multithreaded. Just only on an actual XboxX.  My understanding is this isn’t possible, but my understanding is garbage.

So basically until “Holliday 2020” there isn’t anything firm to go on. CPU wise the minimum for par is a lightly OCed 2600, and the max is uffdah. Hitting above par will still likely work though.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

I believe that it doesn't have any synch or at least I couldn't find it. It is BenQ XL2411 monitor. That budget doesn't include GPU, just those three parts.
