build just starting

[BFD98]

Hey.

I just started out engaging in Gaming PC building

I'm holding out for a NVIDIA 3080, and have set up a build on Newegg. But I am unexperienced, and  I'd like to get clarification if my build would be bot compatible and ergonomic.

 

Looking past the 3080, this is what I have picked out:

 

CPU: AMD ryzen 9 3900 XT

Motherboard: Not sure what to pick*

Memory: G-skill trident Z 32 GB

Case: HXZT H510

Power: Thermaltrake PF1

Storage: Seagate Ironwolf pro 4TB

CPU cooler: Corsair ICUE H115i

 

* I hope I can get some help here to help what to pick seen as what I have picked out here.

why do you need 32 gb

pick a different case. people dislike nzxt for bad airflow

get a damn ssd

idk about that psu

purely gaming, you dont need this

i would look at 10700k or 3800x if you need some extra threads (waiting for review to see if pcie 4.0 matters)

or 10600k / 3600 if you wanna go lower end, not much diff in current games.

do ya need 32gb for something?

16gb is fine for most games today, 32gb is fine though if you can fork out the cash for it (though you might have to run at lower frequency because it's higher memory rank)

it's not a good case in term of airflow, but if you like the aesthetics then sure

personally would avoid seagate HDD due to higher failure rates (as reported by some data centers (and personal experience))

and get an SSD, 500GB SSD with DRAM

i would avoid watercooling, unless you like the looks of it

 

you can use pcpartpicker.com to make your list, it's cleaner and will help you spot missing parts.

as well as use the subforumt hat the moderator suggested (read the pinned thread in there)
