CPU: Intel I7-7700k overclocked to 5GHZ

RAM: 16gbs DDR4 2x8

Power: Corsair RM850x

Storage: 256gb m.2 for boot, 1tb m.2, and 2tb HDD

Monitor: 27.0" 1440p 165 Hz Monitor and 4k tv

Motherboard: ASRock Z270 Taichi

 

I am hoping to upgrade my PC and get a RTX 3080 to play at 4k and at 1440p at 165 Hz when playing competitively with friends but should i change my CPU to avoid Bottlenecking? and if so what should i get?

civilization benefits from more cores, but just to get faster AI turns. RDR2 would see a good performance increase, and cyberpunk is likely to be core-heavy, but you should get the 3080 first and see if performance meets your standards.
