When i get a pc i plan on getting the 3070 gpu. my original plan was to get a 2070 super with a 1080p 144hz refreshrate. But, with the new 3070 for the same price and the power ofthe 2080ti im definentley picking that up. Should i buy a 1440p monitor or a 1080 one since im getting a load of more power than the 2070 super

What resolution for 3070

I honestly doubt I'll be alive in the year 3070 to make resolutions, so it's a pretty weird quest....

oh...those kinds of resolutions.

Well...it depends on your use case, which you haven't listed. So...hard to say.

1440p at 144Hz with high/max details is an appropriate performance target for that level of GPU power in modern titles. It is also the most well rounded resolution/refresh rate for high intensity gaming, with goo framerate combined with a nice high pixel count.

for non gaming purposes, you might want a secondary 4K monitor with really nice colors if editing is a very important usage for you.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Wow, thank you I probably wont go with a 4k because i dont really think I will need it for the edits I'll be doing. Would this be good? https://www.amazon.com/AOC-CQ27G2-Frameless-Adjustable-Guarantee/dp/B0862YHJ56/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=AOC+CQ27G2U&qid=1599075948&sr=8-1&tag=tec04ac-20

1440p 144hz or 240hz would be great for a 2080ti.

I wouldn't go 4k, even the 3080 is likely to struggle with 120hz 4k. Though we dont know for sure atm.

Check out this thread for how to find a monitor.
