Hey guys, Recently I have been streaming on Twitch daily.
Anyways I have a quick question,
my PC specs go as follows:
GPU: RTX 2080
CPU: 9900k
RAM: 32GB veng 3200mhz
NVME SSD game drive

Anyways I was curious what is better in my situation, I mainly stream Warzone, should I use my CPU to do the encoding or my GPU? I stream at 720p60FPS 4500 bitrate.
The internet is filled with conflicting answers.
AFAIK my CPU should be better than the GPU in this situation?

You can test for yourself and compare stream quality, and if you can't tell the difference, well then there you have it.

Streaming at 720p60 on my old 4790K was somewhat tasking, but on a 9900K I highly doubt it would be much of an issue regardless.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

GPU

NVENC Turing > x264 medium, or even slow for almost every bitrate (>3mbps) in every situation

at almost no performance penalties

4500 bitrate.

why only 4500?

This is true, but as far as I know there is no way to privately stream on Twitch. So going live for a couple mins and then turning it off and changing and going live again then turning it off and switching back if i need is just gonna be toxic to those that have notifications on.

Doesn't recording to your PC share the same result, more or less? Why not just record 15 mins of gameplay with each?

And besides, if your followers know you're messing with your setup to improve stream quality I doubt they mind.

not too sure about twitch, but youtube does post-processing before it goes live so it gets compressed to heck

twitch have compression too i think, but there's an option to pick source quality(?) i dont use twitch a lot

GPU for sure, the NVENC encoder in the 2000 series/Turing cards is pretty much on par with h.264 encoding.
