Graphics Card Upgrade

Thinking of upgrading my graphics card. Right now I have an overclocked and water cooled EVGA FTW3 1080ti With an i7-8086k at 5.2GHz on a Z370 Aorus Gaming 7. I play on a 3440x1440 monitor with a 1920x1080 as a second, would upgrading to an EVGA FTW3 2080ti be worth it? I have the money for the card and the water block so it’s not about price to performance but would I see a good increase in performance with the swap?

If you already have the money, I would wait 1 day until the 3090 is announced, and then a week or so until it's available for purchase. I heartily recommend against buying a 2080TI now.

Nvidia launches new GPUs in ~12 hours at time of writing, so I'd recommend you wait to see how that turns out. They typically launch the highest-end cards first (3090 and 3080, in this case), so you might be able to grab one of the early units if you're quick. Just make sure to keep that F5 key nearby 😉.

Please do yourself and your wallet a favour and wait 5,5h more and then see the GPUs that will leave the 2080Ti in the dust.
