Hi guys, wondering if I could get some help as I'm always up to date when it comes to phones and computers but know bugger all about tablets. I recently got a kindle fire 10.1 to watch 720p video, youtube and read Pdf's and while I am actually impressed it plays the videos well unfortunately everything else is sluggish. I often find myself reaching for my phone to browse the internet on my phone while using the tablet it's that slow.

Now I'm not looking to break the bank and am open to used/refurbished but am not really sure what to look for or how to go about comparing them.

As far as budget goes ideally £250/$300 but I'm not dead set on that.

Thanks

Nah uk, laptop is just too big and cumbersome for my needs, I accept it is going to be slower than my phone but would be nice for a tablet that can open the web browser faster than I can get up, walk to the next room, pick up my phone, come back and load the browser if you know what I mean. The samsung s5e looks good but its confusing how the clock speed is 3.7Ghz while the s6 is 2.8Ghz at double the price

Maybe get the Huawei MatePad 10.4 if you can deal with the lack of Google Mobile Services and the fact if you live in the US you will have to import one. You get 3GB of ram and 32GB of storage and it only costs £250.97 and is currently on sale in the UK for £229.99.

Does it have to be an Android tablet? I'd look to a base iPad if you're open. It'll be much faster and sport a much larger tablet app ecosystem than on Android. Ideally you'd hold out for the new iPad rumored to be unveiled as soon as mid-September, but if not that you can look at the current model (especially if you can find a refurbished unit).

Android-wise, I'd look at Samsung's Galaxy Tab S6 Lite.  It's more expensive than the iPad, but it does have a slick design and will also be loads faster than your Amazon tablet.
