Inverting cpu block flow

Hello there, 

 

I was wondering if anyone ever used the Bitspower Omega block for the Asus x299 rog omega motherboard with inverted flow. The natural flow has the inlet on the cpu block and outlet on the IO cover. I would expect inverting the flow to increase temps a bit as the ''fresh water'' would enter the VRM first then the cpu instead of the opposite so the water meeting the cpu would be a bit hotter. I am just wondering by how much? I know bitspower cpu blocks cooling chambers aren't as complicated as EKWB which forces you to use the inlet as an inlet or youll lose alot of cooling efficiency.

Depends entirely on the flow rate and CPU you're using/current load. You really won't known until you try it with your setup.

Yeah problem is my cooling setup will be relatively complicated, so I'm trying to find in advance. I tried contacting Bitspower but the person answering didnt seem to really understand english so his answer didn't really make sense even though I reformulated twice so idk.

It really really depends. The water temp is almost meaningless, going over the VRM first doesn't matter at all. The entire coper baseplate is basically the same temp.

 

Issue is how the flow is designed to, well, flow. Depending on how the block is actually constructed, it may be anywhere from totally fine, to not so great.

Yeah I'm more concerned about the cooling chamber of the cpu block, but they don't specify which block it is. It looks like their summit M block so there is a recommended flow direction. The rest is basically just a 2 level L block so I don't think flow direction matters.

Almost every block worth a damn directs water down over the fins via a flow jet plate. Typically flowing the other direction is not as optimal...

 

How much does it matter, well, no real way to know until you try it I suppose.

Hum looking at the installation manual, their summit block seems symetrical so wouldn't flipping the cpu block solve the issue? Like the water would still meet the VRM first but flipping the cpu block would place the inlet port towards the vrm?
