Because they are bamboozling buyers see pics of specs:

Edit in case you don't see it - 60hz 4k, 144hz 2k 144hz 1080p.  At least it says its an IPS panel.

This might be a shot in the dark given how old this thread is. So if I'm reading the specs right, that means that if i set the resolution to 4k it can only go to 60hz, but if i set the resolution to 1440p/1080p then it can do 144hz?

Meaning it would still be a 144hz 1440p monitor, but an added bonus of also doing 4k? Or am i totally missing something here?

Thats what I am reading - note, most people call 1440p (you are correct calling it 1440p of course) 2560x1440, this is an odd 2160x1440 @ 144hz

ah, I honestly didn't even notice the 2560-2160 bit lol. I appreciate you pointing it out. hmm, so it would be a 400pixel difference. I can't find ANY info on this monitor to find the DPI, but looking around I think that'd roughly be like ~2-4in (I guess?). Would it be worth it to even get this? I'm speaking in terms of 4k on a 27" screen. I see you have a 4k display; would everything look super tiny when it's at 4k? I see that I could get a 32" 2560x1440 144hz Westinghouse(i know nothing about them) monitor that I found, for the same price, actually some others are a little cheaper. Right now i've just got a big 32" 1080p monitor, and was looking to upgrade to 1440p, as this monitor is kinda on it's last legs.
If the picture would be rather small when in 4k(on the 27") then I suppose it wouldn't really be worth it. I mostly play Tarkov (+ other FPS's) and if it would be that much harder to see people at a distance, even though it's a better resolution, then i'd probably go with the 32". Thanks in advance btw. I'm new to anything higher than 1080p lol, so I appreciate the help for sure.

Edit: Nix the westinghouse one, that's a no-go, but there are lots of others that are close to the same price point, with a few being larger than 27". (1440p 144hz is my "must haves"; size is negotiable but 27 is probably the min.)

Westinghouse monitor was doodoo, so I added that in to fend off any monitor reviews over receiving a response to my actual question.

For gaming I personally believe 27" 2k is the sweet spot (2560x1440) - of the two 4k panels I have gamed on I dont like how taxing it is on my GPU compared to how beautiful my 2k panel is between them either way.

I game on 24" 1080p 144hz and 27" 1440p (2560x1440) 144hz monitors - 24" would be the highest I would game on @ 1080p and 27" the smallest @ 1440p - As you go up in resolution you have to have a beefier and beefier GPU to utilize the monitors - right now with the GPUs I have neither are being used (monitors) to their fullest on new titles, I need better GPU's to push those frames

Gotcha, i'm also looking to upgrade GPU lol, so I feel your pain XD. As of right now my gpu handles the 32" 1080 like a champ, but I know that increasing resolution is pretty huge difference, even if it's to a smaller monitor. And you are right about not going higher with 1080p lol, You can definitely see pixels on my 32", but i've adjusted to it and it's not so terrible as some of the reviews for it sounded.

I guess for me the 4k was more of just like a cool thing to have, for watching movies and whatnot. Plus I do play lots of little games that would probably look dope on 4k without melting my gpu. Is it a super drastic difference for you when you look at the 4k vs the 2k ones you have? I'm guessing the 4k one is similar in size? It seems like 2k is probably just the way to go with it. With this Kuu monitor, I was mainly just cautious because I literally can't find anything at all besides 2 posts on LTT forums and the Newegg listing, but the reviews are all pretty decent (except the angry people who couldn't figure out how to change the hz). So lastly I will ask- do you think even 2k wouldn't be great on a 32"? In terms of like clarity and seeing pixels, etc. I ask because there are TONS of 27" ones at 2k for the same price as this Kuu one, but only a few 32" that are not TOO much more expensive. Some "open box" and refurbs.
