my college uses a phone app/keycard for us to unlock our doors to rooms. but, the app is terrible. I want to try and make my own app so i can make my life easier. unfortunately, the app uses SSL so I cannot recreate the data it is sending so I also don't know what the app is sending/receiving. is there a way I can decrypt that ssl traffic so I can snoop it? The closest I got was to set up my laptop as a hotspot and connect my phone to it. Then, open up wireshark on my laptop and monitor the traffic. I can now see the traffic, but because its SSL, I cannot read the data.

What can I do to read that data? is it even possible?

For reference, my college uses the CBORD Mobile ID app, the server URL is: <removed by staff>  and there is a username and password to be able to connect to the server.
