Not really, unless its a terrible server. Just use google's free DNS.

Doesn't really matter. 8.8.8.8 is Google's (along with 8.8.4.4), 4.2.2.2 is Verizon's (along with 4.2.2.4). But the first one should always be your Router/Modem (i.e. 192.168.1.1).
