Ram Memory query

i have i5 6400 and it says that it supports https aka ms remoteconnect DDR4-1866/2133, DDR3L-1333/1600 @ 1.35V,

would 2x8gb 3200mhz not be compatible with the cpu?

That's just the base frequency. meaning anything over that is technically not guaranteed.

assuming you're running a z series board, yes.

if you're running B and H series board, you sadly wont, do note as well that 3200 is kind of pointless with sky lake as it doesn't really benefit from faster ram. unlike coffee lake and zen.

As long as your motherboard and CPU both support DDR4, you can run it no problem. It just likely won’t run at 3200mhz, as your CPU doesn’t guarantee support for that frequency.
