pcie wireless card disconnects randomly...?

So I've got a tp-link pcie wireless card. For some reason, it disconnects regularly, it doesn't happen when I am using the computer, but when I leave it for a while, seemingly regardless of if the pc goes to sleep, it disconnects from the wifi. I notice it especially when I am downloading games. It will begin downloading, but when I stop using my computer and come back it will have stopped the download and I will have to reconnect to the wifi.... What could be causing this?

Are the drivers for the wifi adapter up to date? Do other devices on the network also randomly get disconnected?
