I just switched my old laptop over to Ubuntu since it had gotten too slow to reliably run windows. I'm planning on repurposing it as an emulator PC. The C key on the laptop keyboard is broken, and I'm wondering how I can remap it to something else like the right control key. In windows I was able to download software to do it, but I know for Linux you have to do it through the terminal. I'm unsure of what specific commands to run however, and articles I've read thus far have not been helpful. Does anyone have any advice on how to do this?

I mostly speak from my own past experience from similar problems. My solution may not work for you, but I'll always try my best to help as much as I can. If you want me to see your reply, make sure to quote my comment or mention me @WaggishOhio383, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.

What version of Ubuntu? I know the latest versions have GUI tools for enabling/disabling shortcut keys. I would expect remapping keys may have a similar tool.

If I'm looking in the right place, it looks like I'm on version 20.04.1. I'm kind of new to this Linux stuff though so I could be wrong.

Same version my desktop is running. Unfortunately I can't get to my desktop for a number of hours. Someone else may be able to help in the meantime.
