Help with dorm WiFi

Hello, I just moved into my campus’ dorm and to connect to the WiFi you have to sign in to a web page that pops up when you connect. Unfortunately some devices like google home and smart TVs can’t connect to these networks since there’s no way to sign in. There is an Ethernet port in the wall but that also requires you to sign in when you connect. Any ideas on how to get these devices connected? Is there any way to avoid having to sign in?

Devices like Google Home do not support captive portal networks. You would need your own router to make something like this work. Connect the router to the network and connect the rest of your devices to your router.

 

Make sure to get permission first before trying this, though.

I came across this little travel router some months back which should allow captive portal login at the device level through its own built-in browser.

 

Haven't tried it myself to say from experience, but it gets good reviews for its portability and built-in VPN client.
