Hi guys I am looking to build a new PC and was wondering on your opinions. I am using this to game and possibly stream.

 

Case: ASUS TUF Gaming GT301 Mid-Tower Link: Case

Power: PowerSpec 750 Watt Link: Power

SSD: WD Black SN750 1TB SSD Link: SSD

Ram: G.Skill Trident Z Neo 16GB (2 x 8GB) Link: RAM

Motherboard: Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) Link: MotherBoard

Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X Processor with Wraith Prism LED Cooler Link: Processor

Video Card: NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2060 SUPER Link: Video Card

Cable Ties: LTT CABLE TIES Link: Ties

What wireless network chip/card should I use?

My bugget is around $950

plug all your parts through pcpartpicker.com and it'll be a lot easier for us to help you out. you have a budget in mind? any parts that you prefer to stick with (case, other aesthetics)?

my "oops i bought intel right before zen 3 releases" build

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 (placeholder)

GPU: Gigabyte 980ti Xtreme (also placeholder), deshroud w/ generic 1200rpm 120mm fans x2, stock bios 130% power, no voltage offset: +70 core +400 mem 

Memory: 2x16gb GSkill Trident Z RGB 3600C16, 14-15-30-288@1.45v

Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming

OS Drive: Samsung PM981 1tb (OEM 970 Evo)

Case: Fractal Design Meshify C Dark (to be replaced with a good case shortly)

basically everything was bought used off of reddit or here, only new component was the case. absolutely nutty deals for some of these parts, ill have to tally it all up once it's "done" :D

What are the prices you get for the case? Amazon is hard to check prices since it locks to my region, not yours. Asus cases are often overpriced tho, GT301 for example doesnt really offer anything functional over the Phanteks P300A which can be had for less.

SSD's cutting into the value proposition somewhat

Same for memory, RGB LEDs literally cost you $30

Mobo's on the weak side for a 3700x but still sufficient

Navi cards, apart from raw performance in some games, are universally worse than equivalent RTX cards (for the 5600XT, the 2060 Super). No RTX support, worse video encoding and decoding performance (and support) and higher power draw.

 

For wireless card, an Intel AX200 without CNVi? Not like a wifi card is that expensive anyway, plus being an external module means you can carry it over to future builds.

i would like to stick with that case but the web page did not have it. so i switched to the gt501 for temporary

The B450 Tomahawk Max is cheaper and is still very good.

That case is overprices and ther is no way that is going to fit into a $750 budget.

That is not a good power supply. Stick to well known brands like Corsair, EVGA and be quiet

That is a good SSD but a SN550 is similar for $30 cheaper.

16GB 3200MHz is better for your budget.

Get a Ryzen 5 3600. It is on a newer architecture and you can't really find the 2700x at a good price anymore/

Good graphics card, but if you have a $750 budget then that wont fit in there. If you can extend your budget then maybe.

i decided to use the NZXT H510 this is my first build so is the ryzen 5 better than the 7

Ryzen 7 is usually better but the Ryzen 5 3600 is newer than the Ryzen 7 2700x but they are similar. If the 3600 is cheaper by at least £15 then get that. It is on a newer architecture. The 7 has more cores but is on an older architecture. I recommend checking out some videos on youtube about the differences and you can make the desicion.

The NZXT H510 is nice looking but has bad airflow. The P400a that i listed has much better airflow and is usualy cheaper so that would be better.

i will go with the intel i5 10600k because i will use 3d printing, and streaming software should i go with a liquid cooler

hi i was wondering if any one has a mother board suggestion under 170 for gaming and streaming

Well, amd is cheaper while being better in multi-threaded tasks, whereas intel have slightly better single core performance due to their higher clock speeds. In your case, a ryzen 5 3600 ($170) would be better for your budget than an i5 10600k ($280). If you were to pay nearly $300 for a processor, a ryzen 7 3700x would be a better option as it has more cores and threads.

Basically, I recommend AMD, because it beats intel in basically everything except is slightly behind in single threaded performance.
