Can I replace Hamachi with something easier to use or that doesn't require a program? (Windows 8.1)

I noticed that Windows 8.1 has an option, at network configurations, to "add a VPN". Can I replace Hamachi with this VPN thing? How?

It won't be as simple as Hamachi but it will still be a VPN.
