I recently upgraded my 3900x system with a 64gb kit of trident Z neo.

This kit is the advertised 16-16-16-36 timings at 3600speed.

The system was wildly unstable at said advertised speed and timings, but runs flawlessly at 14-14-15-36 3466.

Just unlucky with one of the dimms?

4 Simms or 2?

That's a pretty fast kit, not too surprising if the speed is a little lower

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

yea, at 3600 that's a lot of pressure on the imc and the interconnect.

you could try setting the soc to 1.1 and dram to 1.35 manually and then set it to 3200 and enable xmp/docp, if that works go for 3600 with xmp/docp.

You could easily bump up the voltage to 1.45v without any active cooling.

Yeah I am sure more voltage might make the advertised speed achievable, just never experienced a kit that had stability issues with just xmp/axmp 😅😅

4 sticks of DRAM puts more stress / load on the Integrated Memory Controller (IMC) compared to 2 sticks.

Even though your DRAM kit and motherboard may be rated for DDR4-3600+, your CPU's IMC is not guaranteed to handle it.
