A higher dB will have more power than a lower dB (including +/-). 10dB > 0dB; 0db > -10dB, etc.

 

Decibels is a logarithmic scale: relative power = 10^(dB/10). Negative numbers will just get you a smaller power.

I'm confused. signal strength is measured in dBm. I would imagine the higher the value, the stronger the signal. But, I always see negative values for the signal. I know thats what it's supposed to be, but does that still mean that higher is better? or because its negative, the lower the value, the stronger?
