What do you mean by 'heavy gaming and video editing?' Which games? At what framerate and resolution. What editing software? What kind and resolution footage are you editing?

Most high end PCs don't cost over 3k so $6000 is an awful lot unless you are doing extremely intensive things. 

I would highly recommend waiting a couple of months for the new hardware from Nvidia and AMD to be released.
