RAM Trouble

I just bought a new pc that brings a 3000hz 16 gb memory, but for some reason, I can't change it from 2667hz to 3000hz in bios. I have an MSI mobo.

yes i do. When I click to change auto, there is no option to enable 3000hz, but as you can see in the second photo, my ram IS 3000 hz.

Your motherboard only supports up to 2666 MHz. You need a better motherboard to run faster ram.

@RAM555789 Do you think calling them and being a karen will solve anything? if not, is there a mobo you can recommend that has wifi also?

Been busy this past few days, but no. It's pretty standard for most pre-builds to come with cheaper lower end motherboards. Also your running an Intel CPU so it won't benifit that much from faster RAM, it's AMD's Ryzen CPU line that benefits the most. You also have a non K CPU so you can't overclock regardless of what motherboard you have. You also have the option of getting a wifi adapter (don't cheap out on it). Personally I prefer using an ethernet cable.

 

If you don't care about the extra 2-3fps you will gain the cheapest motherboard you could get that will get you better RAM speeds would be the

In order to get the wifi your cheapest option is an ITX board
