Mobo usb header question.

So my question is if i plug a front usb 2.0 cable to it's header will the 3.0 front ports in the case work? Like at all or with the 2.0 speed or do i have to use 3.0 cable and plug that to it's header to get the ports to work? Just curious. No real problems here.

You have to plug in the USB 3.0 header to use the ports, they are separate from the USB 2 ports and will not work if you only plug in the 2 header.

Thanks, I'm really confused with the usb stuff  The naming and all. Also one more question for shits and giggles. Are the rear usb ports directly connected to motherboard, I'm not 100% sure about this either but think so
