Possible OEM GPU purchase / Worth It?

Hello all, recently I came across a possible GPU purchase. It’s an HP Omen Desktop 1660ti (listed as a mini). It has one fan, but other than that, the guy selling it sent me benchmarks and temps, all of which are really good, and he has a high marketplace rating. (He’s also only asking $180 for it) All in all, I don’t really know jack about OEM graphics cards; it’s only been used since December and he’s had it stored away for about half that time. All in all, 1.) what concerns should I have since it’s an OEM card, and 2.) Would this be a good upgrade from my XFX 590 Fatboy? Lol

HP wouldn’t have made it themselves.  Repair is going to be evil but it’s used anyway.

as for speed here’s a gamers nexus comparison https://www.gamersnexus.net/hwreviews/3445-evga-gtx-1660-ti-xc-review-benchmark

seems to me to say “so nearly the same speed it doesn’t matter”

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

If you can make an offer, ask for $160 and its a good deal. But $180 for a smaller improvement is a bit much

Fast old card or slow(less fast?)  new card. I’d say don’t buy it at all and keep what you got.  There’s barely a speed improvement at all if any.  It will do a few things the 590 won’t though.  If you need those things it could matter.
