Hello

I have recently completed my first build and everything is working great except that I have a problem with sleep mode. My monitor switches to sleep mode but my PC doesn't.

I have set the time in power & sleep to 30 mins on both screen and PC and am using the AMD Ryzen Balanced setting that is also set at 30 mins.

I have installed latest AMD drivers and all other drivers that are needed such as the chipset.

Changed some timers in advanced power settings within the AMD Ryzen balanced plan to 30mins.

OS: Windows 10 Home 64 bit

Motherboard: Asus Tuf Gaming x570 Plus wifi

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700X

Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT

RAM: 32GB DDR4

I cant understand why my PC does not sleep but my monitor does. Help please?

EDIT: Monitor: Acer Nitro VG27P 27" 144Hz FHD FreeSync HDR IPS Gaming Monitor

EDIT: SOLUTION

My network adapter was interfering with sleep mode.

Device Manager > Network Adapters > "Right click your adapter" > Properties > Power Management > Uncheck "Allow this device to wake computer" > Restart.

Your monitor can't have any caffeine two hours before bed time!

Seriously though, what monitor are you using?

Edit: Sorry I read it the wrong way around, when you say the PC doesn't sleep but the monitor does. If you move the mouse does it just open straight up on the desktop?

Haha no, but might actually look into that. My personal sleeping patterns have been crap since I got RGB in my room... It's like a disco in my room. Hence why I really need to figure out why it isnt.

Oh yes, that bit of information might help. I am using a Acer Nitro VG27P 27" 144Hz FHD FreeSync HDR IPS Gaming Monitor. I'll edit post to include the monitor.

SOLVED

It seemed my network adapter was interfering with sleep mode.

Device Manager > Network Adapters > "Right click your adapter" > Properties > Power Management > Uncheck "Allow this device to wake computer" > Restart.

Now both the computer and I can have some much needed sleep.
