Alright folks I've got an interesting problem for ya today. Basically my brothers old pc had an ugly case so he asked me to switch it to another case and i did but now its stuck in a boot loop. It'll turn on for 3 seconds and then turn off time after time with nothing displaying on the monitor, I've tried cleaning and reseating the ram but even without the ram in it, it still has a boot loop, ive also unplugged the sata cable from the drive and with only the cpu psu and mobo in it continues to boot lop\op. I've also tried taking the cmos battery out and putting back with no change. I'm lost at this point any help would be appreciated. It did work before i moved it to this new case.

Just try taking it out of the new case incase there's a short or something.

Otherwise something might have just happened to the windows install?

Can you get into the bios at all?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

The new case might be causing a short with the motherboard that would prevent it from booting.

alright so i removed the mobo from the case and moved a cable from behind it that i figured was causing the short but after putting it back in its still stuck in a boot loop

just boot it while it sits on a box or something...

otherwise I have no idea, the motherboard might have died from static but that's pretty hard to do

alright so we tested it on a piece of cardboard and it still boot loops, which means that its a problem with the mobo not the case or psu right?

Most likely, you can try just one stick of RAM at a time in each slot
