Hi all,

I have my PC hooked up with proper monitors, keyboard and mouse, but sometimes I need to work on my laptop. To do that properly at my desk I need to unplug my USB hub, plug that and the hdmi cable into my laptop, and switch over the monitor input. That is tedious and I am irrationally lazy, so I often instead look at the 15" laptop monitor. Any software that I could connect the laptop to the PC, that is fully on the PC side and can make it act like a USB dock? Having a dock and a KVM is messy, and not to mention expensive.

Unfortunately I can not remote into the laptop due to firewall settings I have no control over.

Edit: posted early by mistake.

That firewall thing makes things iffy.  Can you load software on the laptop?

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

I may can sell it to our IT, but they won't agree to a teamviewer or such. It would be also great if I could use the monitors independently, by that I mean not as a remote desktop solution, but as if it would be extended monitor, not just mirroring of the single screen.

Thought about miracast, if I ignore the usb devices, but sadly my gpu does not support that.
