Hey guys im having an issue with GTA 5 that i though you guys could help with, so my system is:

- AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
- 32 GB DDR4 3000MHz RAM 2x 16 GB
- MSI Gaming edge x570
- ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 2080

i looked up youtube videos of performance of similar systems at 4k and they are all getting 100+ FPS where as im getting 30 ish low 40's mid 30's

edit: i have to run in borderless windowed not full screen to even see 60fps

What settings? You're not getting 100+ FPS in GTA 5 at Ultra settings 4K with a 2080.

are you sure those are videos of a 2080 and not the 2080ti?

also for some reason im getting sevear fps drops to the point of unusable in the menus, like i can be sitting at 188 fps in the menu and then for no reason whatsoever it drops down to 10 fps and completely becomes unusable where a menu loading takes like a good 10 - 15 seconds

Also keep in kind that GTA Story Mode and GTA Online perform very differently from each other.

Please post the link to the video you are mentioning.

 

Without all the details those videos mean nothing. I play GTA V on mostly high to ultra settings in 1080p on a GTX 960 and a Ryzen 3100 @ 3.9 GHz all core. My fps never dip below a 100. 4K is a different game though and without all the details there is no way to compare systems.
