Alright so I have a prebuilt cuberpower pc... And my cpu cooler is a coolermaster i71c, and it has a backplate that it needs to screw in, the backplate ain't the problem now i can only screw in 1 screw and thats all i can do. Idk whats wrong with it tbh and im not good with pcs and stuff.. Its got like springs on the screw and idk what im doing wrong... I can only screw in one screw on any hole. And its like the other screw have a gap between the backplate.. I have a back case thing to where i take off a side panel on the back and i can move the backplate..i have the backplate in all 4 holes its just the 3 screws wont touch if i screw one of them in... Wondering if i could get help?

Did you replace the motherboard with a different socket?

Are you tightening one screw all the way down before starting the next? It generally helps to only get one started with one or two turns then start the opposing corner. Let's you wiggle things around a bit to get holes to line up.

I tried tightening one screw all the way then i unscrewed it and twisted it a few times to try to get the other screws in.. And i haven't replaced the socket

Screw each screw in a quarter turn at a time. They all have to bite or the retention mechanism will flex, and make it extremely difficult or impossible to insert the other screws

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Hmn...looking up the coolermaster i71c it says it's a Intel only CPU cooler. Are you sure that's the cooler you have? There appears to be a a71c (for AMD) is that what you meant?

After you get the first screw started do you apply pressure to the backplate to start the others?

As far as I can tell the backplate & cooler can be oriented in 1 of 2 directions so I don't think you're putting it on update down.

Let's try this. If you remove the cooler & backplate and try screwing them together outside the computer what happens?
