RAM upgrade causing restart loop

I have a MSI MS1763 Laptop

It currently has 16gb ddr3 1333mHz of RAM.

When I change to the 32gb 1600mHz sticks and turn on the computer, my screen stays dark and it restarts over and over.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Put the old ram back in, see if continues to do it. It may not like the ram you put in, or its not in properly.

I tried that a few times, works just fine with the old stuff

you're using 4x8gb 1600MHz?

or some other capacity/freq combination?

 

also sometimes the computer takes a few restarts to memory train

but if it takes too long, the ram probably isnt compatible

2x8gb 1333mHz upgrade to 2x16gb 1600mHz.

 

I tried both sticks and just one stick of the new ram a few times each with the same outcome.

hmm... spec sheet specify it only supports 4 and 8GB sticks

maybe that's why

I didn't notice that, seems the most logical answer though.
