Can't enter BIOS/UEFI

Go to solution Solved by JayBe,

I might have found the issue... i just looked around a few things and saw that my c drive is partitioned in MBR instead of GPT... and that explains why i cant get into bios through neither advanced startup nor the cmd line..
Guess i have to scratch down my computer again in order to fix that.. fml
But thanks for your help @thewill102 !

Hey guys,

I want to enable XMP through the BIOS, but I am currently not able to get into it.The usual way, by pressing DEL/F2 when the Mainboard Logo shows up is not possible, cause when I start my Computer it immediately goes into Win10 without giving me the option to do so.

Therefore, I wanted to enter it by Shift clicking on restart, going to troubleshoot -> advanced options -> UEFI Firmware Settings. But, when i go to advanced options it doesnt show the option to get into the bios.

r/Windows10 - Entering BIOS through Win10 Advanced Setup not available

This is what i get.Roughly translated (top to bottom, left to right):

  1. Jump start

  2. Startoptions

  3. CMD

  4. Deinstall updates

  5. System recovery

  6. Systemimage recovery

I was used to have the BIOS option at the point where System recovery is now (where my cursor is at).
I also tried disabling "fast startup" in the power options, but that didnt help.

Is there any other way to get into bios through win10? Or did they change something in a recent update?

Thanks in advance!

Is it in the startup options?

Sadly not. Thats what it shows when i click on Startup Options:

Roughly translated again:
- Activate videomode with low resolution
- Activate debugmode
- Activate startup logging
- Activate safe mode
- Deactivate forcing of driver signatures
- Deactivate Anti Virus early startup
- Deactivate Automatic restart by Systemfailure

Try resetting the CMOS. I remember that theres an "Ultra fast boot" option in some BIOSes that will skip the BIOS and will boot straight into Windows.

So reset your BIOS and see if you can enter it again.

(And btw. im German too, so no translation needed for me :))

Yeah, i enabled ultra fast boot last year, but it never kept me from being able to get into bios.. until now.
Resetting the cmos didnt help either :/ (at least if i did it correctly by taking the battery off the mb, waiting a few minutes and placing it back in)
