Hi, I am thinking about upgrading to 32gb of RAM. My questions are as follows:
1. If I use my all four memory slots does it matter if I have two separate pairs? ie a pair of Corsair vengenace and a pair of Kingston Hyper Xs
2. If the answer to 1. is no should I use all 4 slots or just use 2? ie get two more 8gb sticks or just do away with the old and get a pair of 16gb sticks?

My CPU is a Ryzen 7 2700x MB is a AsRock B450 Steel Legend. Thanks for the help as I am just starting to learn about PCs.

If you want the best performance possible, you ideally want to have matching modules for all 4 slots. Depending on your workloads, you could suffice using two different pairs.

Basically, having a pair of Corsair Vengenace and a pair of Kingston Hyper Xs will work. It just won't be the best.

So I just looked and my processor is only dual channel capable so would it even work trying to use the 4 slots?
