Question about Intel Optane Modes

Can anyone please explaine the difference between Intel Optane Performance mode versus Responsiveness mode? This is very confusing for me and I can't find any info on Intel's website. These modes are present when you setup the Optane portion of the SSD - new changes made by Intel with the updated drivers.
