Black screen after driver update

Hi guys, just asking for some help here. I have a newly built pc though I have reused my GPU. An MSI GTX 750 2GB OC. Everything is fine, until I try to update the GPU driver. I tried an older version and the latest one from Geforce experience and everytime the driver is installed the monitor blacks out and the sound of hardware disconnected pops out. The monitor was connected thru DVI. I have tried the TV thru HDMI and still not detected. Unfortunately my procie has no integrated graphics so I had no choice but to hard reset and use system restore. Is my GPU busted? Thanks in advance.
