Bluetooth mouse inconsistent / recommendations?

I don't have much experience with bluetooth mice so please excuse my ignorance here. Currently I have a few year old bluetooth mouse that appears to be an older gen of the Microsoft Modern Mobile Mouse. From day one it has felt inconsistent. Across many different computers, operating systems, and locations it has the same inconsistent feeling. A very minor input delay which I would expect compared to my usual wired or G903 mice and high refresh rate monitor. The input delay isn't the issue, but this inconsistent tracking is very annoying. It's not bad enough to assume a faulty mouse but it's definitely noticeable. Is this just a normal thing for bluetooth mice due to the nature of them?

If this is not normal behavior for a bluetooth mouse can anyone recommend any solid and portable ones please? I got this one because it had the flat magic mouse form factor but has two actual buttons and a scroll wheel. Those are my only real requirements. Real left and right click buttons, scroll wheel, and preferably a longer flat design over the shrunken down claw grip ones.

Thanks a ton for any information or recommendations!

Bluetooth operates on the 2.4GHz frequency band, same as many other consumer electronics, so it's very suceptible to interference, maybe that's the problem?

Thanks for reading all this by the way!

By the way, my desktop is a docked laptop. Get over it, No seriously, I have an exterrnal monitor, keyboard, mouse, headset, ethernet and cooling fans all connected. Using it feels no different to a desktop, it works for several hours if the power goes out, and disconnecting just a few cables gives me something I can take on the go. There's enough power for all games I play and it even copes with basic (and some not-so-basic) video editing. Give it a go - you might just love it.

Ah that very well could be it. At my house at least there are 20 or so devices using the 2.4 band for better range and wall penetration. Maybe I'll just deal with this one instead of spending more on a different one to likely have the same problem. I didn't know bluetooth used 2.4GHz thanks for the info!

I also have a Microsoft bluetooth mouse (First generation designer mouse) and it always had a weird input lag too, I believe its hardware related. I even tested it with my phone and it also felt that way. I am not a fan of bluetooth input devices, bluetooth is just so much hassle to deal with overall.
