Windows 8 standard with windows server

Can you use the cloud streaming and storage service on windows server when accessing it from a standard win8?

Should be ok. The only limitation that Windows 8 has with Windows Server is that it cannot join the domain.

Not sure what you mean as to cloud streaming...

All you have to do -> Share drive/folder on Windows Server -> Give proper permissions to said shared -> Map drive on Windows 8

what I mean is stream videos from server over internet to 8 and store and retrieve files to/from server to/from 8.

Standard Windows 8 cannot join domains created by Windows Server. If you don't know what a domain is, it's kind of like a normal Windows workgroup but it adds a variety of features that are designed for corporate environments.

I know what a domain is, I was just not well informed that if it is not Pro or Enterprise it can't join. That seems dumb.
