I can't say there is much to go off from the information you provided but I will try my best.

By getting a A9 error I'm guessing i'ts the post code on the motherboard?

What do you mean with both Windows 7 & 10? Have you tried booting both but they still have the same issue?

You could just unplug the Windows drive and see if it boots correctly in to the bios without the os being involved and see if that changes anything.

If you know your way around the bios and can configure the settings if needed depending on your current configuration, I would recommend re-seating the gpu and the power cable to it. And also while you'r in there remove the cmos battery and hold the power button for ~ 5sec to clear all the settings (First boot/boots can take a little longer after clearing cmos). Then put it back together and try again.

I wish you the best of luck

Thanks for this pal, turns out the 980ti needs an updated bios driver to work with display port 1.3 and 1.4. Who would of known after 5 years no issues but all fixed now touch wood.聽

So, my computer wouldn't start, I had to buy a new PSU.聽

Now the computer powers up, but if I boot from聽Displayport聽I get no screen.聽

I was having no issue for a day or two until now.聽

If I use HDMI, it works every time. Then if I switch in the OS I can use Displayport.聽

If I use a different Displayport, it still doesn't work!

Normally I get an A9 error.聽

I've tired using electrical tape to cover the displayport pin.聽

X99 pro

980ti

Windows 7 & 10

What have I missed?
