Psu/ unknown fault

Hi guys, long time lurker. 

 

Need your help, so I have my pc and everything has been fine for years until it wouldn't start up on Sunday. Though I have used it all day until I shut it down and restarted it. Now I think it was the psu, and my corsair is 3 weeks out of warranty and nothing can be done so I bought a new one.

Now, it boots up, though the psu clicks once when turning on and clicks once when turning off.

Is this normal? It's a corsair rm750x. 

I read this could be a short circuit and the psu is protecting itself. Is that right? It's been that long since I played inside I lm not sure if this is just a normal function.

yes its a switch inside the psu, thats perfectly normal. nothing to be alarmed

Thank god, I'm so worried its the motherboard I'm not thinking straight. O well guess now I have to go through all the error codes one by one , thank you
