i want to make a gaming server only for me.
can someone please tell what kind of hardware might i need for this and also to a source that can help me understand how all this works.

Guessing so you can host servers ? what kind of games you thinking of ?

Wdym server? A gaming PC but in a rack mount chassies?

 

If it's only for you why not build a normal tower?

i want to access it over internet on some other low powered machine outside my house.

yes something like this only but only accessible by me.
AAA titles, 1080p, 60hz

Theres always a post right after Linus puts up a video about this kind of stuff....

 

Theres no point building a dedicated gaming server, just utilize your existing gaming PC.
