The older model EVGA 120 with the faster pump speed works well.  I believe it's what EVGA uses in their hybrid cards too.

does it work for amd card specifically the 5700xt?

Well it would depend on the bracket you use to mount the AIO.  I use a NZXT Kraken G12 and that works with some AMD cards, but I'm not sure which cards.

would you recommend a gpu aio tho?

In combination with a way to properly mount it -- yes.  I reduced my GPU temps by A LOT with one.  It set me back about $75, but I bought the NZXT G12 because I had a 360 AIO that I wasn't using (it is older and its performance was suffering) and that 360 AIO I either couldn't mount properly or was too old to use.  So I bought the EVGA 120 (older version) and so my cost went up.  That EVGA AIO works great though.

would you recommend that setup over a custom loop?

They are different.  The cost is wildly different.  Performance can be similar though.
