IPMI

Can i use an IPMI port as a normal 1GB LAN connector? I have an SuperMicro x11SDV.

Probably not. That controller is normally completely seperate.

Sometimes it works the other way round tho, so you can use the IPMI on the normal LAN as well.

That sucks, am i right in thinking i need an internet connection to access the FreeNas Web UI? I do have x2 10GB LAN ports but they will be used to connect directly to two computers.

You could probably stilll access the freenas webui from those two computers, but freenas won't have internet, so no updates etc.
